GitHub developer preview
Bring Finalverse
to your Mac.
An experimental first look for early explorers and developers. A native client, with the world and AI services behind it.
Read before downloading. This preview is ad hoc signed and not notarized. macOS may block opening it. Create your own account through MutSea before entering the world. Preview capacity is limited; downloading the client alone does not create an account.
v0.4.0-preview.3 · GitHub-hosted DMG · Universal executable · Apple Silicon runtime verified; Intel hardware unverified
Mac startup hotfix. Preview.2 fixes the “Missing Files” / settings_files.xml error seen when macOS opened preview.1 in a protected location. Download this version and replace the older app. Your world account and existing profile do not need to be reset. Apple signing and notarization remain pending.
Start with the right expectations.
- Native avatars, inventory, movement and world editing are preserved.
- Supported worlds can provide authenticated AI planning, reviewed creation, recipes and Undo.
- Hosted Lumi currently has one explicitly configured controller. An ordinary account does not automatically control that citizen.
- Voice defaults off. Optional libVLC/codec playback is excluded from this public preview; parcel video/audio and voice are not preview-certified.
- No Windows, Linux, mobile or browser client download is included.
- Limited preview registration is available through MutSea. GA support and an automatic updater are not offered.
Three steps to begin
- Verify and install. Compare the DMG's SHA-256 with the release asset, open the image and drag Finalverse Preview into Applications. Eject the disk image, then launch the installed app.
- Read the Mac signing note. Follow the full installation guide and Apple's per-app security guidance. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.
- Create a world account. Register with MutSea, wait for your avatar and home to be ready, then select Finalverse Harbor (Preview) and sign in with your First Last name and password.
Getting started and world access
Source, not a black box.
The release includes source/build provenance, license notices and checksums. The viewer inherits LGPL-licensed Second Life code; Finalverse is an independent project. Source and platform instructions remain in GitHub.
The DMG is served by GitHub Releases. World-server availability does not determine download availability. Only the Mac artifact listed on the release page is offered.
